ACRO Biomedical Co., Ltd.(stock symbol 6748), established in the Kaohsiung Science Park of Southern Taiwan Science Park, is committed to the research and development and production of biomaterials for human tissue and organ regeneration. The company, after consulting with the lead securities underwriter, Fubon Securities, and the co-underwriter of Taiwan Corporate Securities, and Tachan Securities, decided to submit an application to be listed in the emerging stock market after this year's general meeting of shareholders in July, and formally enter the capital market in Taiwan.
Since its establishment 7 years ago, ACRO Biomedical has successfully developed many biomaterials and obtained patents and FDA certifications globally. These high-end medical devices can be applied in the fields of wound care, dentistry, orthopedics, ophthalmology, sports medicine, aesthetic medicine, cardiovascular, etc.
ACRO Biomedical has obtained 5 Class I medical device certifications and 5 Class II medical device certifications from Taiwan FDA, and 2 high-end medical devices has been approved by US, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam FDA. Numerous products are also pending to be approved by Taiwan FDA. In terms of intellectual property rights, ACRO has obtained 24 patents from Taiwan, the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, India and the European Union. The acellular cornea developed by ACRO Biomedical is currently undergoing human clinical trials in Taiwan. It is expected that after the trial is completed this year, ACRO will register the Collagen Ophthalmic Matrix as a class III medical device from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan next year. ACRO wishes that this medical device will benefit many patients waiting in line for donated corneas. Since there’s a severe shortage of human donated cornea in China and India, this will be ACRO’s next main business target.
Furthermore, there are also new breakthroughs in the field of aesthetic medicine. A multifunctional collagen implant for wrinkle filling has also been developed. This product will first be used in the fields of wound care and hair care, then it will enter the field of aesthetic medicine for anti-aging skin regeneration.
Needless to say, the most eye-catching R&D project of ACRO Biomedical is the "Organ Regeneration". ACRO is currently cooperating with the Cardiac Surgery Team of Tri-Service General Hospital to carry out the reconstruction and regeneration of arteries and the whole heart. The progress of animal experiments is ongoing. ACRO is also collaborating with the medical team of Kaohsiung Medical University to conduct animal experiments on the reconstruction and regeneration of kidney in vivo. If the organ scaffolds can be reconstructed and regenerated in animals, humans will not have to wait in line for organ donations in the future. Organs such as heart, kidney, liver, and pancreas can all be replaced by acellular porcine organs.
