ACRO Biomedical's International Research Collaborations On the Rise

ACRO Biomedical has been gaining a lot of international exposures. After signing Exclusive Strategic Partnership Agreement with one of Japan's top 3 trading companies and licensing out Collagen Ophthalmic Matrix to an Australian biomedical company, ACRO is also participating in NASA's Space Project in the study of human osteopenia during spaceflight. Moreover, ACRO has been collaborating with a number of American corporations and European research institutes on testing ACRO’s tissue and organ scaffolds for stem cell research and scaffold powders for 3D bioprinting. These international research colloborations are making ACRO on the rise.

Last year, ACRO's "Collagen Bone Matrix" developed from decellularized porcine bone was approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, making ACRO Biomedical the first Taiwanese biotech company that can mass-produce lego-like bone graft for filling large facial defect area. Subsequently, the original shareholders' cash capital increase was completed, and more than a dozen patents from many countries including the United States, Japan, South Korea, India and the European Union were successively obtained last year. Various signs show that ACRO Biomedical has been accumulating its energy for a chance to shine.

ACRO Biomedical started human clinical trials on artificial cornea at four major medical centers in Taiwan last year. The good news is that the vision recovery is better than expected. It is expected that the clinical results will be released to the public at the end of this year or early next year.

亞果生醫國際合作 再報佳音

亞果生醫再生醫學技術再引起國際騷動！繼前年參與NASA美國太空總署進行骨填料的外太空研究計畫後，今（110）年初與美國海軍研究單位合作進行生醫級膠原蛋白人工敷料人體試用，雙方並將共同嘗試把該敷料從傷口修護進階到部位感染防治；由於該國軍力遍及全球，若策略合作得宜，除帶來龐大商機，亞果生醫企業品牌知名度將乘勢飛揚。

亞果生醫近幾年動作頻頻，其國際聲量持續處於高檔；繼之前與澳洲生醫企業及日本前三大商社在南科舉行國際策略合作簽約記者會後，其在國際間陸續與NASA美國太空總署及美國海軍研究單位聯手骨填料及人工敷料的生醫技術合作，並與美商大公司及歐洲知名研究單位合作測試亞果生醫生產之各種組織器官支架，應用於幹細胞量產以及人工器官3D列印，奠定其在生物醫藥領域的專業地位；在國內，去年以豬骨塊去細胞所開發的「骨基質」，經衛福部核發上市許可，成為台灣首家可量產拼接式骨塊進行大面積顱骨缺陷填充的專業生技公司。隨後，完成原股東現金增資，再於去年陸續取得包括美國、日本、韓國、印度及歐盟等多國十幾項專利；種種跡象顯示，亞果生醫蓄積的經營動能，有機會大放異彩。

 

該公司執行長謝達仁博士表示，經營生醫公司本就是技術密集、資金密集的產業，不一定會成功但必須備足；亞果生醫這幾年的快速成長是全體同仁的努力以赴，尤其是董監事們的信任與支持，今年6月將召開董監事改選，預計增加三席獨立董事，並討論下半年興櫃遞件事宜；事實上，申請上興櫃已是亞果生醫現階段營運目標，也希望具備前瞻性的亞果生醫，能與社會投資大眾共創榮景。

 

謝達仁接著表示，亞果生醫去年即與三軍總醫院、台北榮總、高雄榮總及高雄醫學大學附設醫院，展開人工眼角膜人體臨床試驗，從部份已置換人工眼角膜將近半年的患者傳來好消息，其視力恢復比預期來得理想；預計，將於今年底或明年初對全國民眾公開人工眼角膜人體臨床成果。
